PROJECT BRIEF

Contracted by DMG for Moroku to create a vanilla branded UI Design and Prototype for Chore Scout: Formally named ‘Chore Tracker’ - A white label children's mobile banking app.

The founding directors had compiled a concept document of an interactive app. in which the development of the child/parent app. was to be build. My position was to interpret this idea visually with all macro and micro digital interactions for two individual apps. (parent and child designs) for a banking conference pitch presentation in the United States. The prototype was to efficiently demonstrate a live app. - one step further from an interactive mockup prototype. The team needed to have the app. working for their demonstration.

tools and design process

The project employed initial pen-to-paper prototyping tools to iterate through the evolving screen count. After internal testing with the team, I transitioned to utilizing Sketch for the final design screens. Subsequently, these screens were uploaded to Zeplin for a seamless handover to developers. Icons and illustrations were meticulously curated from royalty-free stock images, then customized to align with the specific visual identity of the project.

UX DELIVERABLES

The primary deliverables were to create the interactive screens featuring a versatile 'vanilla' design style, deliberately minimal on branding to ensure adaptability across various bank identities. Icons and illustrations were strategically employed to illustrate the inherent flexibility of this concept. I successfully provided fully designed interaction screens, ready for seamless integration into the live app development process.

OUTCOMES & NEXT STEPS

The project was presented at the Banking Conference in the states by the Moroku Group, and proved to have success for the next iteration of the mobile app. Subsequently, the app has been licensed to many banks including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Empowering young minds with financial acumen, Cuscal Limited has embraced the Moroku digital product, 'Chore Scout,' as a dynamic tool for instilling real-world money values in children. Beyond its educational purpose, the app serves as a catalyst for fostering meaningful connections with customers. Through Chore Scout, parents and kids engage in a playful journey of tracking chores, facilitating pocket money transfers, and establishing savings goals.

This interactive platform not only simplifies these financial transactions but also enables parents to impart essential lessons on spending and saving.
